So... What now?
Hello everyone, Shitsu here.
There are lots of different things and topics that we want to bring up in this log, but I think it would be best to start with the words “thank you”
Thank you, sincerely.
Outsiders’ Demo was a really long journey full of joy, hope, pain and stress, and nothing would be possible without your support.
At the beginning of this journey, Outsiders was a casual project, just text in a flashy cute art style. Although, over time, it began to grow bigger and bigger, not only in story and characters, but also in meaning and soul.
Thanks to everyone who trusted us, and everyone that helped make this project possible. We will not disappoint you.
What we're working on.
We haven't stopped working on the game since the demo was released. And that's not only good for the game itself, but also for you, our players, as you have been able to see the process of updating the game.
Unfortunately, and possibly due to our eagerness to speed up the game's development, we have recently found some flaws in our creative process, as Outsiders' routes and their respective endings have never been fully structured.
Ultimately, we know the characters, we understand them and we have planned much of their story line
However, we both understand the importance of the quality of this story, and just knowing the characters and a little of their story is not enough to support a good story.
This is why these weeks we have been working very hard to fully develop each of the characters, their backgrounds, routes and endings, all of this to help us improve and focus the writing process even more.
Fortunately, at the date of publication of this log, all the routes and character stories have been completely written, and the only thing left to do is to finish writing the BASE story (without a defined route) of the game to be able to start with the different routes.
What to expect?
Certainly the development of Outsiders is going well, and this tells us several things regarding future updates of the demo.
Speaking of percentages, the BASE story is 100% ready and planned, while the writing of the story is 60% complete, counting what we have already seen in the demo and scene 3, which we are still writing.
Based on this, we could calculate that the total duration of the BASE game (without entering any route) would range between 4 and 4 hours and a half.
Making the full game, and this is only a guess, a complete experience of between 9 and 10 hours.
At the moment, we cannot give exact dates, however, we expect the BASE game (without a defined route) to be finished by the end of September approximately.
The full game is expected to be available by 2024.
What about rewards?
As many of you may already know, we have been sending out some rewards via Kickstarter messages. Discord server invites and concept art, to be more specific.
However, there are still some rewards pending for most backers, such as the OST or NSFW digital cards. These will be sent when the game is completely finished.
On the other hand, as you can imagine, rewards such as the full game or the name in the credits will also be received when the full game is available.
Although we are thinking about uploading the demo to Steam to be able to give the access keys directly.
We will be reporting on this later on.
We are working very hard, and that’s why updates will not be recurrent, however we will be reporting any important issues through these logs. Thank you very much to everyone.
